FSM and China Sign Air Service Agreement

May 4, 2015 (FSM Embassy, Beijing) A historic moment in the FSM-China relationship was realized today with the signing of an Air Service Agreement (ASA) between the Governments of the FSM and the People’s Republic of China.  The signing ceremony was held at the Headquarters of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and was signed by His Excellency Ambassador Akillino H. Susaia and the Honorable Li Jiaxiang, Administrator of the Civil Aviation Administration of China. 

During their meeting prior to the signing of the ASA, Ambassador Susaia and Administrator Li both acknowledged the historical occasion and the importance of the Air Service Agreement for the two countries in terms of strengthening bilateral relations and the promotion of tourism and trade between FSM and China. Ambassador Susaia expressed appreciation on behalf of President Mori and the people of the FSM to Administrator Li for the opportunity to cooperate with China in the area of civil aviation. Both sides agreed to work together to encourage airlines to implement and make the ASA meaningful.

Staffing Ambassador Susaia to the signing ceremony from the FSM side were Minister Counsellor Jackson T. Soram, First Secretary Vincent Sivas,and Tourism & Foreign Investment Advisor/Financial Management Specialist, Mr. John Yang.
